An Integrated Microwave Assembly (IMA), often referred to as a "Supercomponent," is a sophisticated electronic module that combines multiple, discrete Radio Frequency (RF) and microwave components into a single, compact, and rugged unit. The purpose of an IMA is to perform an entire subsystem function (like a receiver front-end, a frequency converter, or a switch-filter bank) in a far smaller and more efficient package than if the components were built as separate circuit boards.
